Our philosophy is simple -- we enjoying designing products. If you can't enjoy what you do, then why do it. We are fortunate enough to be in a position in life were we can enjoy what we do and do what we enjoy.

We also have a corporate mandate to lead in how we design and lead in the design community. We support the RTP Product Development Guild and sponsor the RTP Product Design Street Faire, ProductCampRTP and BarCampRDU.

Product development is expensive; once a product is developed, it is even more expensive to produce, stock, distribute, market and sell. Montie Design balances innovative ideas with the realistic need to keep manufacturing costs low while satisfying end-user requirements, realizing products that are economical to manufacture, elegant and robust.

We utilize creative problem solving to identify cutting-edge solutions to product design and production, such as purposeful wondering, making a product's current features more valuable by considering a wide variety of options.

Our rapid response to development deadlines and the timely nature of client requirements is built into our approach with every project.

From the time we are contacted about a possible job we provide our clients with quick turnaround in all phases of product design, prototyping and production, without sacrificing form, function, manufacturability, elegance or style.

Most of the projects we engage in require a cross-functional team involving software, electronic/circuit design, firmware, mechanical, industrial design (ID), and PCB layout contributors; Montie Design accesses trained professionals in various applicable industries with the skills and experience to apply to each individual project from concept to prototype to market.

Montie Design doesn't engage in design services so much as develop strong relationships that happen to come with product design and development projects. We provide constant attention to changing client needs and ongoing, personal communication throughout all phases of each project from deadline to dock. Our transparent practices allow each client to keep appraised of progress and enable us to clearly communicate needed resources and feedback.
